L ‘ Ensemble du Ciel

L’Ensemble du Ciel is a chamber group founded by world-renowned pianist Rueibin Chen, who also acts as its Artistic Director. The goal of the group is to present the cultural dissonance and consonance, via the unconventional composition of piano and Chinese traditional instruments, of east meets west. We presents the most important and iconic Chinese traditional instruments: Gaohu , Erhu , Chinese Bamboo Flut and Pipa . They bring to the audience the same harmony and acoustic effect of a western string quartet. The instrumentalists are all illustrious young artists in Taiwan’s traditional Chinese music scene. They were all academically trained since childhood and later acquired master’s degrees from national universities in Taiwan. Currently they are concertmasters or section leaders of professional orchestras and perform regularly in Taiwan and overseas. L’Ensemble du Ciel present the worldwide audience with a musical feast of east meets west. The repertoire contains the most well-known Chinese classical pieces.
